“The man told officers when opening the case that he was visiting his daughter, who lives with her grandparents in Fishers’ Hill, when the incident took place,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“He was in the lounge with his daughter and her grandfather, the suspect, when he was called to the kitchen by his daughter’s grandmother.

“He alleged that the suspect joined them in the kitchen and the pair began an argument with him.

“He further alleged that when he tried to leave the woman pushed him and the accused pointed a firearm at him.”

The suspect was arrested and appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.

“We appeal to our community not to take the law into their own hands,” said Maome.

“Two wrongs will never make a right.”
