SW Security respond to reaction officer’s death
Eugene Peens was fatally wounded in an armed robbery at Albemarle KwikSpar last Thursday.
Germiston police have confirmed they are investigating a case of business robbery and murder after the KwikSpar in Albemarle was robbed last Thursday at about 6.20pm.

SW Security responded to the loss of their reaction officer Eugene Peens.
“The group of well-organised and well-placed criminals, who committed the armed robbery, opened fire on the marked security vehicle while driving,” said Danie Schoeman, SW Security branch manager.
“Security officer Peens was seriously wounded and passed away a short distance from the robbery scene.
“Peens, who resided in Brakpan, is a great loss to us and will be remembered as a positive, action-orientated person.
“He is survived by his wife and children.”

Schoeman further thanked the community, on behalf of the family, for their support during this difficult time.
