A 29-year-old man was arrested by the Primrose police last Friday on a charge of house break-in and theft.
The man was arrested in connection with a Mansfield Avenue, Dawnview, house break-in.
The incident was first reported to police by the home’s owner, who told police he had received a call from his wife while he was at work, telling him someone was in the house.

“The complainant reportedly rushed home and allegedly found the suspect hiding in an upstairs cupboard,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
“He called the police and handed the suspect over to them.
“When police arrived, the complainant told them his wife’s wedding ring and watch, valued at R15 000, were missing from the house.”
During a search of the suspect, police reportedly found the wedding ring and watch in his possession.
