Katlehong, Elsburg and Vosloorus were the focus of a drunken driving operation by the EMPD.

EMPD Anti-Drunken Driving Unit members from specialised services conducted an operation in Katlehong, Elsburg and Vosloorus last weekend.

During the operation 31 people were arrested.

“On Thutong Road in Katlehong, between 4pm and midnight, last Friday, 10 allegedly intoxicated male drivers, between the ages of 29 and 41, were marched to the Katlehong Police Station after they failed a breathalyser/alcometer test at a roadblock,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD.

“The highest reading recorded was 0.90mg/l.”

The following day, between midnight and 8am, the EMPD team set up a roadblock in Moagi Street in Vosloorus.
