EMPD Chief of Police commends NGO for its charitable effort
Members of church help the EMPD.
Members of a NGO based in Midrand/Kayalami (also operating internationally), fully dressed in protective gear, reported to the EMPD’s headquarters in Kempton Park on Monday.
Without wasting any time, the Church of Scientology ministry sterilised the four-storey building.
Ministry members volunteered its services to sanitise all EMPD buildings and official motor vehicles following the start of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Chief of Police Isaac Jabulani Mapiyeye and his management team went through the church’s profile before they were endorsed, and found they were highly recommended by national, provincial and neighbouring law enforcement agencies.

This is because of the exceptional charity work they have previously been engaged in.
“We trust and believe that the good work you are performing here will also apply to others and we thank you,” Mapiyeye said, as he addressed part of the volunteering group while disinfecting the buildings and some EMPD official motor vehicles.
The NGO promised to continue sanitising until they are satisfied that all the buildings and means of transportation are user friendly and free from the virus.
They are not expecting any remuneration following the fumigation process.
