Community helps to catch criminals

The suspects collided with another vehicle on Cydonia Road and they tried to abandon the vehicle to flee.

On August 18, Primrose SAPS arrested three suspects between the ages of 29 and 31 on Tulip Street.

Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Styles Maome said the complainant told police she was approached by a man while walking and the man grabbed her and instructed her to give him her cellphone.

“After taking the phone he jumped into a white motor vehicle and they drove off. A witness followed them and when the suspects realised that they were followed they sped off in the direction of Malvern East. The witness continued to follow them,” he said.

The suspects collided with another vehicle on Cydonia Road and they tried to abandon the vehicle to flee.

“They were apprehended by community patrollers and handed to the police.”
