Victoria Lake canoeists go virtual

The Germiston Lake-based paddlers organised group rowing at their club and on the Klip River near Meyerton.

Members of the Victoria Lake Canoe Club took to the water for the Virtual Berg Ultra Paddle Canoe race.

The race could not take place this July due to the lockdown regulations. So in its place organisers created a chance for paddlers to get into the spirit of the Berg.

Some of the Germiston Lake-based paddlers committed to the 240km over four days (the gold medal challenge), while others chose to participate in the silver medal challenge which allowed them more days to complete the distance.
