Primrose SAPS arrested a 43-year-old man for domestic violence on August 22.
The complainant told police she was sleeping with her five-year-old daughter when she heard a knock at the door.
Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Styles Maome said the man had told the woman he needed to speak to her.
“She then opened the door and her boyfriend was with two people, one being a woman. Her boyfriend introduced the woman as his second wife. The woman requested the three people to leave and the boyfriend became angry.

“He assulted her and when she started bleeding, the second woman started screaming at him to leave her alone. He went to the car and returned with a sharp object and tried to stab the woman,” said Maome.
The man’s friend intervened and the woman managed to run away. She went to the police station and reported the matter to the police.
“The police responded and arrested the suspect. He was detained at Primrose Police Station,” said Maome.
