Rossouw said police patrols are already stepping up their operations with stop-and-search measures.

The police in Vosloorus are bracing themselves for a tough crack down on law-breakers as the festive season approaches.

Assuring law-abiding residents of Vosloorus a safe and crime-free festive season, the precinct’s media liaison officer Capt Piet Rossouw warned criminals of zero tolerance.

Rossouw said police patrols are already stepping up their operations with stop-and-search measures.

Already scores of law-breakers have been arrested for a variety of crimes, such as:

• Drug possession
• Public drinking
• Possession of an unlicensed firearm
• Dealing in and possession of dagga

Police stop-and-search operations will soon be increased as the police try to curb crime during the festive season.
