Tshenolo wants to be queen

Her ambition is to be crowned Miss Empress and then eventually Miss South Africa.

“I started modelling this year because it has made me understand myself better,” she said.

Tshenolo said modelling is not only about beauty, but also self-empowerment.

Empress is an online-based beauty contest which is attracting thousands of young female teenagers. Tshenolo is among 5 000 teenagers around South Africa hoping to use the platform to launch their beauty career.

“Contestants need to earns points to reach each level of the contest,” explained Tshenolo, who is confident she is going to make it to the top.
