EMPD arrest six for speeding, possession of drugs

Among those arrested were three others caught speeding on the N12 in Alberton.

The EMPD Speed Enforcement Unit arrested a man in Bedfordview for clocking 164km/h on the N12 on November 15.

He told officers he was late for work. The man was arrested and taken to the Bedfordview Police Station, where he was charged with reckless and negligent driving.

He was one of six arrested over the weekend during various operations.

Among those arrested were three others caught speeding on the N12 in Alberton.

They were travelling at between 167km/h and 186km/h.

In Katlehong, a couple was arrested for possession of narcotics valued at R11 600.

All those arrested will appear in the Palmridge and Germiston Magistrate’s courts soon.
