Zonkizizwe SAPS donates clothes ahead of the festive season
Zonkizizwe police donated clothes and solar lights to Thulasizwe informal settlement residents on November 11.
Speakers during the event included Sgt Rufus Tema, Sgt Kgabo Ramara, the CPF, youth crime prevention desk, victim empowerment centre and patrollers. They addressed close to 100 community members on issues pertaining to gender-based and domestic violence.
Ramara from Germiston Flying Squad advised the community not to resort to violence, especially in cases of disagreements or misunderstandings.
“We have seen and read about innocent people, mostly women and children, being killed in various communities in the country. We appeal to you to alert the police of any crime before we lose lives,” he added.
“The community must be the eyes and ears of the police and report crime as we approach the festive season. I encourage everyone to be safe during the holidays,” said Ramara.
