The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children campaign runs from November 25 to December 10.
We asked learners from Laerskool Die President what advice they have for victims of abuse.
Jaunie van Wyk:
“If you are being abused never keep it yourself. Tell someone you trust who can help you.”
Miyelani Mashego:
“If you are being abused try to seek for help from a support group or the police. Never keep quite about it. If you see a child that looks like his been abused then find help for them.”
Faithful Tafirenyika:
“If you're a child and being abused tell your teacher or try to look for an organisation that helps children and ask them to assist you or take you to place of safety.”
Kayleigh du Plessis:
“If you experience abuse seek help, talk to someone you trust or find an organisation that deals with this issue. If you know someone who is being abused encourage them to speak out or open a case.”
