45-year-old caught with khat in Zonkizizwe

The nervous 45-year-old pedestrian was stopped and searched at 10 am, in Zone 3

In Zonkizizwe Katlehong, EMPD Drug Enforcement officers arrested a male suspect with narcotics on February 7.
EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said the pedestrian was stopped and searched in Zone 3.

“Officers uncovered three ziplocks and 17.78g of khat in a plastic bag valued at R4 800 and also R250 cash in his possession. The officers escorted him to Zonkizizwe Police Station.”

The detained offender faces charges of the possession of narcotics with the intent to sell. “He is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.”
