iThemba receives donations to continue giving to those in need
It was a week of receiving and giving for iThemba soup kitchen in Primrose. The kitchen recently received two donations, one from Scotland and the other from a local businessman.
“We are touched by the donations because we can give to those who are really in need and we thank both our donors,” said Jenny Scheigansz, head of iThemba. The businessman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he was happy to support iThemba through this donation.
“iThemba is doing amazing work. It is with joy that I and my family can donate to this amazing cause and we know the food parcels will benefit those in need,” said the donor.

The cash donation allowed iThemba to buy 120 parcels. The food parcel contained soya, tinned fish, instant porridge, soup powder, two tins of baked beans, one tin mixed veg, tissue and some sweet treats.
The Scotland donation was for party packs for a local soccer team, Burning Stars Football Club, from Primrose.
