The City of Ekurhuleni responded to a letter to the editor by Primrose CPF chairperson Tracy Enslin

Editor’s comment – The City of Ekurhuleni responded to a letter to the editor by Primrose CPF chairperson Tracy Enslin published on March 5, on page 4 titled Primrose residents are fed up with the municipality. The metro commented as follows:

Electricity department

“Equipment vandalism, illegal connections and cable theft is consistently a major contributor to streetlight installations malfunctioning.
“The City conducts regular security patrols and surveillance but this is not sustainable without the residents’ contribution to safeguarding their electrical infrastructure.”

Water and Sanitation Department

“The City still provides services to all informal settlements in Primrose area (Marathon, Delport and Makause). The services are provided on as-and-when-required basis. “We have installed stand-pipes and providing chemical toilets in all the informal settlement around Primrose area.”
