Primrose SAPS visited Germiston High School to talk to learners about crime and influences that may lead them to criminal activities. GCN asked learners if crime education is needed in schools and if they think it is beneficial.
Sindisiwe Thabethe:
"Criminal awareness at schools is needed as some learners might not have the right guidance from home or even have no one to guide them. Learners need to be educated about the dangers of crime and the consequences."
Primrose SAPS visited Germiston High School to talk to learners about crime.
GCN asked learners if awareness about the consequences of crime is needed in schools.
Lira Mucache:
“Education about crime is needed in schools because I feel if learners understand the consequences it will encourage them to make better choices. Sometimes you may think it's a petty crime but it ends up leading to bigger things.”
Andani Mafune:
“Awareness about crime is important because learners need to know the risks of not obeying the law. It's the small things that can lead to big crimes.”
Olwethu Matona:
“Education about crime and the consequences is needed at school because it will help learners who are easily pressured into doing the wrong things. It can help learners understand that crime or breaking the law can lead you on the wrong path.”
Mohammed Hasan:
“Crime awareness is not needed at schools. A child's behaviour and discipline starts at home where you are taught to respect the law. If the child already knows bad habits and behaviour, being taught about it at school might not make a difference.”
