Mokoena said he has recently returned from the Eastern Cape, where he made the donation.
“I like giving back. I believe I have inherited it from my mother,” said Mokoena.
“She used to share almost everything, especially food. She would say ‘tata lana hambe uyo nika usi bani bani naye adle,’ which translates to take this, go and give to that guy; let him have something to eat as well.”
The designer, known for his cultural three-piece suits, designs everything he wears from anything usable. He is also a comedian, a poet and a motivational speaker.

Recently he mentioned he has nothing to laugh about.
“Usually I am all about jokes, but I urged society to continue to adhere to social distancing and safety measures. The comedian in me is not laughing about the situation in this country,” said Mokoena.
“I would like to use my talents and skills to create awareness and raise awareness about gender-based violence. The killing of our mothers and sisters by our brothers has to stop.”
Mokoena has won the best poet award at the Mbashe Youth Awards.
He also shared a word of encouragement to the youth, as he mentioned the youth suffers from laziness.
“If one wants to see change, they should get up and work towards that change. When I left my job to focus on fashion design everyone thought I had gone nuts.
“This generation has to equip itself and stop complaining,” Mokoena said.
