Seventeen suspects arrested on multiple charges

The Elsburg police arrested 17 suspects during several operations held between June 18 and 24. The accused were arrested for various charges ranging from possession of suspected stolen property, theft general, dealing in drugs and possession of drugs, assault common, assault GBH, reckless and negligence driving and common robbery.

“Elsburg police, EMPD and local CPF members work tirelessly to prevent crime and uphold the law in their policing precinct.

“We encourage the community to work with police and report criminal activities in the area,” said Elsburg SAPS spokesperson Daphney Phooko.

Elsburg SAPS station commander Col Linah Thethe thanked the officers for their efforts and encouraged them to continue to work hard during the pandemic for the citizen to feel safe.
