One-hundred-and-ninety suspects were put behind bars during suspect tracing by detectives.

Suspects were nabbed for armed robberies assault common, assault GBH, gender-based violence, attempted robberies, attempted murder, business burglaries, common robbery, contravention of court order, contravention of protection order, fraud, house break-in and theft, house robbery, kidnapping, intimidation, malicious damage to properties, murder, pointing of a firearm, possession of stolen property, possession of unlicensed firearm, possession of stolen vehicles, rape, reckless and negligent driving, tampering with infrastructure, theft of motor vehicle, trespassing, hijacked building, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of counterfeit goods and warrant of arrest.

Members recovered Mandrax tablets, dry lights, bags of dagga, kettles, a hose pipe and dagga plants.

The operation continued in Germiston and Ivory Park on July 1 by teams from the SAPS, EMPD, Gauteng Traffic and other law enforcement agencies. Suspects were arrested for possession of dagga, illegal immigrants, possession of illicit cigarettes, possession of stolen property under Second-hand Goods Act, possession of drugs, contravention of Disaster Management Act and possession of nyaope.

A Toyota Etios was recovered that was stolen in Sasolburg in January.

On the M2 Road in Germiston, 55 traffic fines to the value of R56 000 were issued to those who contravened the Road Traffic Act.

Ekurhuleni district commissioner Maj-Gen Anna Mateisi thanked the members for their efforts and ensuring level four lockdown regulations are taken seriously.
