“We are humbled by the love we have received from fans from different parts of the world. We never thought our music would be listened to by people who don’t even understand the language,” said Sfiso Hadebe.

The group initially consisted of three members: Sfiso Hadebe (DJ Kam Ziwaphy), Nkosinathi Hadebe (da Coffy) and Sphesihle Mbatha (DJ Native) from Dukathole in Germiston.

The group started in high school by entertaining people in their hometown of Osizweni. They matured when they move to Johannesburg to pursue music. Latin Extrme Music was born when they met up with the fourth member Akido Malabela.

Sfiso said their sound is Afro tech because it can accommodate any genre of music.

“We wanted to bring an element that was different but could also relate with people,” said Sfiso.

GCN asked the group why not amapiano, as most artists are using this sound.

“We wanted to offer a different flavour, and people are loving our sounds. We are not taking away what other artists are doing. Every artist has something to offer and it’s a matter of what the fans like. We have amazing artists out there who are sharing what the flavour of music SA has to offer,” said Sfiso.

Their first album was released in 2016 and was well-received by fans.

“Our music so far has been doing well and has earned us respect. Our songs have been played on iHeart Radio, a popular station overseas, and we even received an award last year,” said Sfiso.

The group received an award for local artist of the year at the Germiston Khuthalo Stadium.

They preparing for a trip to Botswana.

“This is the first time we will travel out of the country and are humbled that Botswana has invited us to come to perform for them,” said Sfiso.

He said they will release another album in December.

“We are excited about our upcoming album and hope fans will love it,” said Sfiso.
