Furthermore, employees were educated and encouraged to get vaccinated.
The city’s occupational health nurse, Valencia Thabitha, spoke to the employees and shared information about the importance of the vaccine and why people should vaccinate.
She encouraged the employees to ask questions when not sure because there is so much information going around.
She also urged employees to be honest if they were sick and not take the vaccines when they were not well.
The city is now on the second leg of the vaccination roll-out and vaccinating the city’s employees.
The workplace vaccination programme is the city’s way of ensuring the safety of staff based on risk exposure during their provision of essential services.
“I’m happy to be vaccinated. Thank you to the city for bringing the vaccination programme to it’s employees,” said Anna Aphane.
