According to a resident who lives close to the station, the finished job was not done properly.

The pavement was left opened and wires were exposed.

The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said the pavement is now a high-risk zone due to exposed wires.

The request from the community is that whoever performs a service to leave the environment neat on the completion of work.

City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said residents need to be aware that jobs are allocated to different teams.

“The city energy officials worked on the cables to restore power supply. However, the team that closes trenches is not the same technicians.

“The photos provided by the resident were taken before the team responsible for closing the trenches was dispatched. The cables weren’t energised at that time,” said Dlamini.
