Businesses at Meyer and President streets had no power for two weeks. The power outage forced businesses to rely on generators for business to continue.
GCN spoke with business operators who raised their concerns about the power loss.
City Spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the customers were affected by vandalism and theft of cables that took place in a tunnel where cables are laid.
“Due to the rainy season, the tunnel gets flooded thus causing delays on repairs.”
