Guerreiro said 2022 started with his request to the parks department to clean up and trim trees in the ward.

“I want to move forward on projects started such as the Sunnyridge Water Tower, as well as getting roads maintained. The number of road issues in Ward 92 is of concern. Turnaround time on getting issues resolved must also improve,” said Guerreiro.

His top five priorities are trimming at parks and of trees, road repairs including potholes, street light repairs, cleaning of stormwater drains and manholes and humanitarian projects.

“Safety is a big problem in our community throughout Ward 92. Crime, illegal dumping, vandalism and non-compliance are just some of the safety issues. I plan to work closely with the local CPFs and SAPS to ensure Ekurhuleni relevant departments ensure by-law compliance.

“Illegal dumping is a huge problem and, unfortunately, often those committing the crime are residents of the area. EMPD needs to help us with this problem. City of Ekurhuleni’s clean-up teams are working endlessly to clean up, thus costing the metro mass amounts of money to continue cleaning.

“Power issues are ongoing. On a good note, Sunnyridge main substation is due for a mass upgrade over the next three financial years.

“I was informed that tar will arrive at the end of February and potholes and road repairs will start soon.”
