SAPS on a drive to restore the dignity of children

"Gone are the days where SAPS was a force. We are now a service and we are here to serve,” said Nkonkwane.

Katlehong SAPS members visited St Manche Masemola Church at Spruitview under the theme of Social Ills of Teenage Pregnancy on February 5.

According to Katlehong SAPS Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, the campaign is a joyful restoration of dignity for the girl and boy child.

Mtwa was accompanied by Katlehong Social Crime Prevention coordinator Sgt Nkonkwane and sector four manager Sgt Makeke.

In a full-capacity church filled with young girls and boys, Nkonkwane outlined various aspects of nature and life in general and advised teenagers on what to do when they are being abused, sexually assaulted and raped.

This was followed by a question-and-answer session where young girls and boys asked interesting and valuable questions.

“As police, we are your mothers and fathers, so don’t be afraid to always come to us. Gone are the days where SAPS was a force. We are now a service and we are here to serve,” said Nkonkwane.
