Ramonetha aims to lead his team to victory
Ramonetha draws inspiration from abroad.
Liverpool’s Development Club’s player Athimna Ramonetha (15) earned himself a place in the u-17 and seniors team as the team’s goalkeeper and captain.

The young star said being a goalkeeper requires a lot of work and discipline.
“Goalkeepers determine the club’s success. You also have to organise your backline to defend well,” said Ramonetha.
“When the team is under attack, it is up to you as the last line of defence.”
When he started playing soccer, he did not anticipate taking up the position of goalkeeper.
“Coach Lucky Muthelo is the one who converted me from playing defence to goalkeeper. At first, I was against it but now I am starting to enjoy it.
“I am the proud owner of three medals that we won during tournaments and two trophies that I won as a goalkeeper. One of the trophies is Player of Year that I was awarded last year,” said Ramonetha.
He finds inspiration from Barcelona skipper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Daniel Akpeyi, the current Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper.
