Fraud and ATM robbery on the rise in Katlehong
Police recently took to the streets of Katlehong to conduct a fraud and ATM robbery awareness campaign next to Sam Ntuli Mall.
This awareness campaign follows a gradual increase of commercial crimes, like fraud and ATM robbery at Katlehong policing areas.
Katlehong sector managers with the Social Crime coordinator, Community Police Forum, brigades and patrollers interacted with shoppers and motorists who visit the mall on month-end.
According to Katlehong SAPS corporate communications officer Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, police are using every channel to address such cases.
“At times, radio and newspapers are not enough to reach everyone. That is the reason the police hit the streets to engage with the community face to face.
“The message we shared to everyone during the campaign was do not fall victim and be extra careful at all times,” said Mtwa.

He said approximately 300 pamphlets were distributed to both shoppers and motorists.
To report any suspicious activity, contact the police on 011 600 3661 or use the MySAPS app on your cellphone. The app is available for free on Google Play Store.
