Local authorities fight crime through sports

Sports keeps children away from criminal activities in Makause.

Primrose SAPS, Ekupholeni NGO representatives and the Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation conducted a Sports Against Crime event at Makause sports ground in Primrose on March 29.

Members of the crime prevention youth desk were also present.

“The purpose of the visit was to keep the children off the streets and entertained. We want our children to abstain from criminal activities,” said Sgt Styles Maome, Primrose SAPS corporate communications officer.

The Primrose SAPS acting station commander, Lt-Col Mbazima Maswanganyi, commended the stakeholders who were part of this event.
