The young woman shared news of her employment with GCN on April 13.

In 2016/17, she took advantage of a learnership opportunity and studied small skill surface mining at Minetek.

After graduating, she could not find employment. The Mpumalanga originator migrated to Gauteng to seek greener pastures.

For months she had no luck with employment until she landed an interview at the Primrose-based old age home.

“I am excited to have found employment after months of job hunting. I live in Thembisa, so I will have to travel,” said Nkabinde.

“When I received a call to come for an interview, I was excited. I felt like the taxi was not going fast enough,” she said.

“I will work hard to the best of my abilities. I am grateful for this opportunity because this is what I have been waiting for,” said Nkabinde.

She said her dream is to become a foundation phase teacher.
