Local old age centre hosts outdoor activities for Women’s Day

“Everyone’s creation was unique and the residents were delighted to create something beautiful.”

Ron Smith Care Centre residents and employees celebrated National Women’s Day with exciting activities.

With Spring around the corner, one activity included a refreshing walk around Elphin Lodge’s landscaped gardens on August 10.

“It was a lovely sunny day, the ideal weather for our residents to enjoy time outdoors searching for flowers and leaves to make bookmarks for Women’s Day,” said Debbie Christen, Rand Aid manager of recreational programmes.

After a lovely walk, everyone returned to the recreation centre, where they made their bookmarks.

“Everyone’s creation was unique, and the residents were delighted to create something beautiful,” said Debbie.
