Life’s tempo seems to be moving faster by the day, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and feeling like we are sacrificing quality time with those we love.

On December 6, East Rand Palliative Care (ERPC) will create the perfect opportunity for families to settle in for an afternoon of heart-warming music, relaxation, remembrance and making memories.

In celebration of the home-based palliative care organisation’s 40th birthday, the annual Candles of Remembrance event, which will be held at Pinnace College Rynfield, promises to be an experience that the entire family will enjoy.

From 15:30 to 19:00, local muso Jaryd Smith will entertain the audience with harmonious tunes, allowing guests to make song requests in memory of those who lost the battle against life-limiting and threatening illness.

As the sun sets over the horizon, the ERPC team will lead the touching candle lighting ceremony.

Pack a picnic and spread out a blanket on the sprawling lawns, making time for what really matters.

Tickets are R80 for adults, R60 for pensioners, R40 for children under 12 and kiddies younger than five enter for free.

Proceeds of the event will contribute to ERPC’s ongoing programmes.
