Murder parolee caught with two stolen vehicles and unlicensed firearm in Germiston
The SAPS arrested a parolee for possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and two stolen vehicles.
A 48-year-old man, previously convicted of murder and currently on parole, was arrested in Germiston for having an unlicensed firearm and two stolen vehicles.
The Germiston SAPS Crime Prevention team stopped a white Toyota Etios during routine operations and noticed discrepancies between the car’s license disc and registration.

When questioned, the driver admitted awareness of the mismatch and tried to bribe the officers.

When searching the suspect, officers found an unlicensed black pistol loaded with 16 live rounds.
The police went to the suspect’s residence on Main Reef Road, finding a silver Toyota Yaris and more evidence.

Both vehicles were confirmed as stolen, with one linked to a case in Brixton. More ammunition, including 18 live rounds, was found at the property.
“The suspect, originally from KwaZulu-Natal, is an ex-convict on parole for murder,” confirmed Germiston SAPS communications officer Maxwell Mabunda.
The Germiston SAPS station commander, Brigadier Nonhlanhla Shezi, commended the team for their dedication, “Their efforts contribute significantly to creating safer environments,” she said.
The suspect remains in custody pending further investigations.
