Man busted for unlicensed firearm by Germiston SAPS
While searching them, they found on the driver a black and silver pistol with ammunition. They requested a licence, but the suspect could not provide one.

Germiston SAPS arrested a suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on February 2.
The Germiston Crime Prevention team were conducting routine patrols around Elsburg Road next to the swimming pool when they noticed a silver VW polo driven by one male with one passenger.

They stopped the vehicle and asked to search them.
While searching them, they found on the driver a black and silver pistol with ammunition. They requested a licence, but the suspect could not provide one.
“They arrested the suspect (34), read him his rights, and took him to Germiston SAPS for detention and on the charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and eight rounds of live ammunition,” said Germiston SAPS Sergeant Maxwell Mabunda.
“The suspect will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
“The station commander, Brigadier Nonhlanhla Shezi, commended the members for their vigilance and also attributed the success to effective stop and searches that enhance police visibility,” said Mabunda.
