“Members of the SAPS Tsakane Trio Task Team, DPCI , EMPD, and Springs Crime Prevention followed up on information regarding suspects who are masterminds and are allegedly involved in car hijackings, and in the killing of a police member in the area.

“The information led the team to Mshayazafe Hostel in Tokoza, where the team arrested four suspects for possession of two unlicensed 9mm pistols with 20 live rounds of ammunition.

“The four suspects led the team to Basuthwini Hostel in Vosloorus, where eight suspects had three unlicensed firearms and some R5 rounds,” explained Sekgobela.

Sekgobela also stated that the suspects were in possession of a hijacked vehicle linked to a September 2025 incident in Katlehong.
