Hijacked vehicle from Primrose recovered, two suspects arrested busted
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officers tracked down a vehicle linked to a Primrose hijacking, arresting a man and a woman at Lakeside Mall.
The EMPD has recovered a vehicle hijacked in Primrose and arrested two suspects during a crime prevention operation in Benoni.
According to EMPD, Community Liaison Unit officers were conducting patrols and vehicle tracking operations on April 9 when they received information about a grey Hyundai Elantra suspected to be stolen.

Acting on the tip-off, officers traced the vehicle to Voortrekker Road, where it was found in the underground parking area of Lakeside Mall.
A man and a woman were found inside the vehicle. Further investigation confirmed that the registration plates and vehicle identification number matched details linked to a hijacking case reported in Primrose.
The suspects, aged 36 and 43, were arrested on the scene for possession of a hijacked vehicle.
They were detained at the Benoni Police Station and are expected to appear in court soon.
EMPD said the arrest highlights ongoing efforts to track and recover hijacked vehicles, while strengthening crime prevention operations across affected areas.
