EMPD arrests alleged drunk driver in Elandsfontein

Law Enforcers stopped a red Toyota Hilux Light Delivery Vehicle (LDV) with one occupant.
“The fifty-two-year-old male driver, who seemed to have had one too many, was tested and he was over the limit when the breathalyzer/alcometer was used,” said EMPD spokesperson Chief Superintendent Kelebogile Thepa.
“The intoxicated motorist, with the 0.13 reading on the device, was handcuffed and taken to the nearest medical facility for his blood to be drawn before he was taken to the Bedfordview Police Station,” said Thepa.

The motorist, who is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, is expected to appear at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
