Rooikraal and Simmer and Jack landfill sites to close temporarily for maintenance

The City has announced temporary closures at the Rooikraal Landfill Site in Dawn Park and the Simmer and Jack Landfill Site in Germiston due to routine maintenance, with alternative sites made available to the public.

The City has announced the Rooikraal Landfill Site in Dawn Park, Boksburg will close early today at 1pm due to routine maintenance.

Operations will resume as normal on Saturday, January 24.

In addition, the Simmer and Jack Landfill Site in Germiston will be closed for routine maintenance from Saturday, January 24 to Sunday, January 25.

During the periods of closure, customers may make use of the following alternative landfill sites:
Rietfontein Landfill Site – KwaThema

Platkop Landfill Site – Along the N3 Highway (Vosloorus)

Please note:

Rooikraal Landfill Site may be used as an alternative during the closure of Simmer and Jack Landfill Site.

Simmer and Jack Landfill Site may also be used as an alternative during the closure of Rooikraal Landfill Site.
