Germiston Power Outage: Eskom unable to indentify fault

Large parts of Germiston have been without power since the early hours of August 16.

Ward 36 Clr Wendy Morgan has advised that Eskom has not been able to identify the fault causing the Germiston power outage.

Morgan said the power outage affecting Germiston North (wards 36 and 92), Germiston South and Tedstoneville has resulted in Eskom dispatching additional teams to continue with testing.

“The link boxes cannot be replaced until the fault has been identified,” said Morgan.
No turnaround time has been provided.

Yesterday afternoon City of Ekurhuleni’s spokesperson confirmed that the power outage was due toan Eskom fault.

“We don’t know what the issue is, and no estimated restoration time was provided,” said Dlaimini.
