Homestead resident says lack of road maintenance puts people at risk

"There's also no street name sign."

Homestead resident Lennie Lazarus is disappointed in the inadequate quality of service provided.

He is concerned about pedestrian and vehicle safety.

The Kenneth Road resident said because of the lack of road markings, accidents are a real possibility.

“Next to my property is a speedhump, but the markings on it are gone.

“When drivers realise there is a speed bump, they frequently hit the brakes at the last minute.”

Lennie Lazarus is worried about the drains with missing covers.

He said the exposed drains at the intersection of Kenneth and Ruphil roads are also a cause for concern.

“The covers were taken off, leaving the residents vulnerable to accidents and injuries, particularly at night.

Children usually use the intersection for soccer games. What happens if the vehicle hits the speed bump because the driver is unable to see it? What happens if the guys trip over the holes in the drainage system?

“There is a designated public park, so why not allow the children to play there? We also request that the city replace the street name that was also taken,” said Lazarus.
