WATCH: Tshivhenga adjourns council to meet with residents, accept memorandum

Speaker of Council, Nthabiseng Tshivhenga has recessed council to address members of the public outside.
She also took the opportunity to address those gathered outside when she left the council chambers to accept a memorandum from the community.

At this stage it is unclear what the exact contents of the memorandum were.

A number of residents gathered outside the council building in Germiston this morning to hand over a memorandum to Tshivhenga.

While EMPD officers earlier barred the public from entering the building to deliver their memorandum, leaders of the group were allowed inside to meet with the speaker.
A decision was then taken that the speaker would meet with residents.
