Germiston senior citizens treated to festive lunch

“The event is special to us because some residents don’t even see their families because they are overseas.”

AfriForum hosted the Cosmos project at the SAVF Kinross Herberg in Germiston on November 7.
The event included a luncheon, entertainer Caroline du Preez and gifts.

Facility manager Des Rohde said they had food donated to make the elderly lunch.

Afriforum is very involved with us, and we welcome any help we get from the community. On December 23, we will have another event, hosting a company to do a Christmas lunch for us.

“We wanted the elderly to feel special, welcomed and loved. We had mugs printed their names on them and gave them some goodies while enjoying live entertainment,” said Rohde.
