Residents protested outside council chambers in Germiston ahead of the expected State of the City Address (SOCA), on Thursday, 27 March, to express their frustrations regarding issues such as gender-based violence and service delivery.

Residents were also carrying placards during the protest, demanding that City of Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza take accountability and address them.
