Delville taxi loses control after colliding with bakkie – DEMS

Three people sustained serious injuries, while five others suffered moderate injuries.

The City of Ekurhuleni’s Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) has confirmed that a taxi carrying passengers collided with a bakkie, lost control, crashed through a wall, and struck a stationary vehicle inside a yard on La Basse Street in Delville on May 1.

According to DEMS, the incident occurred at about 15:32.

Three people sustained serious injuries, while five others suffered moderate injuries.

All patients were treated on scene by members of the Gauteng Emergency Services and various private medical teams before being transported to hospitals across Ekurhuleni.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD).

The scene was officially handed over to EMPD officials.
