Power cuts in Rondebult, Phumula and Mapleton, here is your schedule

The City of Ekurhuleni announces load rotation due to faulty high-voltage cables, with specific times for affected areas to manage electricity supply until repairs are complete

The City of Ekurhuleni has implemented a load rotation schedule for parts of Rondebult, Phumula and Mapleton due to faulty high-voltage cables.

The city spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini confirmed that the rotation is being implemented to manage the electricity supply in the affected areas while technicians work on restoring a stable power supply.

The load rotation schedule kicked off this morning at 10:00 and will continue on an alternating basis between the impacted areas.

“Load rotation is scheduled as follows: from 10:00 to 18:00 for Phumula and Mapleton Extension 10, and from 18:00 to 10:00 for Rondebult, Rondebult Extension 2, Rondebult Extension 3, and a portion of Leondale,” Dlamini explained.

Residents are urged to treat all electrical appliances as live at all times and to follow safety precautions during the outage periods.
