Germiston Home Affairs residents directed to Boksburg as mobile units close
"We as government are trying to ensure continuity of services despite the challeges," said Tshivhenga.
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) announced that the temporary mobile Home Affairs trucks at Germiston Civic Centre will be discontinued on August 26.
After the Germiston Home Affairs office burned down, residents were using these mobile trucks for services.
From August 26 onward, residents needing these services will have to go to Boksburg and surrounding offices.

The Germiston staff will join Boksburg staff to handle the workload.
“The mobile trucks were used to serve residents after the fire, but they are primarily used to service schools in the city,” said Speaker of Council Clr Nthabiseng Tshivhenga on Monday morning.
“The city apologises for the inconvenience this change might cause,” said Tshivhenga, citing the need for services in a conducive area based on the Batho Pele principles.
“We as government are trying to ensure continuity of services despite the challenges,” said Tshivhenga.
Those who want to collect documents can do so at Boksburg. For applications, residents can visit any branch and produce the appointment message for assistance.
