Golden Walk hosts first Spelling Bee to celebrate Germiston’s young talent

Golden Walk Shopping Centre proudly hosts the inaugural Spelling Bee 2025, uniting over 400 learners in a celebration of education, talent, and community pride.

Golden Walk Shopping Centre is proud to host the first Golden Walk Spelling Bee in partnership with South Africa Spelling Bee, giving learners in our golden community a stage to shine.

This exciting competition is not only about spelling, but also about building confidence, celebrating education and showing that Germiston’s young talent deserves the spotlight.

Participation has been overwhelming, with more than 400 learners from Grade 4 to Grade 11 entering this year’s competition.

Their enthusiasm shows how much the community values opportunities that inspire growth, learning and achievement.

Golden Walk is honoured to be at the heart of this journey, working with families, schools and teachers to uplift education in Germiston.

The Preliminary Rounds and Grand Finale will take place on 30 August 2025 from 1pm at the Food Court, learners will step up to the microphone and spell their way to success. The winning learner will walk away with R12 000 and R10 00 for their school.

Golden Walk is more than a shopping centre. It is a place where opportunity and community come together. By hosting the Spelling Bee, we are making an investment in the future of our children, giving them skills, confidence and dreams that will last a lifetime.
