One killed, another injured in collision at Geldenhuys interchange

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) confirmed that a man in his 70s died following a two-vehicle collision on the M2 westbound at the Geldenhuys interchange.

Traffic on the M2 westbound was heavily affected after a fatal crash at the Geldenhuys interchange this morning, September 9.
According to the EMPD, two vehicles were involved in the collision.

The man, believed to be in his early 70s, succumbed to his injuries and was certified dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries. EMPD Freeway Unit officers and medical services attended the scene to assist the injured and regulate traffic.

Motorists have been urged to remain patient, drive cautiously and expect delays while recovery operations continue.
