Trees do not only beautify the landscape and purify the atmosphere, but they also prevent soil erosion and provide many other ecosystem benefits.
Every single planted tree goes a long way in conserving the environment and reducing the effect of soil erosion, which may be aggravated by the approaching rainy season.
Community groups or individuals interested in planting trees in their environments may contact their ward councillors for assistance in getting trees at no cost.
