Germiston SAPS runs door-to-door campaign to tackle family violence

The Germiston SAPS recently conducted a door-to-door campaign in Ext 9, in collaboration with various stakeholders, including Bertha Gxowa Clinics, Ekupholeni, Department of Social Development (DSD), Youth Desk, and the Siyabangena team.

The campaign aimed to address family violence and promote peaceful co-existence within the community.

During the campaign, SAPS members and stakeholders engaged with residents, distributing pamphlets and providing information on how to prevent violence and report incidents to the relevant authorities, starting with the police.

The initiative sought to educate the community about the importance of avoiding violent behaviour and seeking help when needed.

“By engaging directly with residents, the campaign aimed to raise awareness and empower the community to take action against family violence.

“The collaboration between SAPS and various stakeholders highlighted the importance of a multi-faceted approach in addressing social challenges and promoting community well-being,” said corporate communications officer for Germiston SAPS, Sergeant Maxwell Mabunda.
